Wow, when researching for this topic I had no idea that I would come across so many alternatives to using a traditional guest book. There are so many lovely ideas that I think any bride to be would struggle to pick one.
Traditionally guests are given a guestbook that is singed and then passed around the entire reception until everyone has given their well wishes. A normal guest book can either be made by your hired stationary company, or alternatively bought online. The wedding shop has some traditional guest books that can be purchased. Alternatively Kalahari.net also has a variety to chose from.
If traditional guest book sounds a bit old fashioned for you, then perhaps opt for one of these modern alternatives:
- SIGNING FRAME; Have a professional photographer take pre-wedding photographs and get the one you like the most framed.

- SIGNING PLATES:
Instead of having guests sign around a photograph of the two of you, why not have a ceramic plate printed with your wedding details and have guests sign around it with a marker pen. You can then display this plate at home for all to see and treasure this memory.

- POLARIOD PHOTO'S
Rent a photo booth that takes old type Polaroid photo's. Have each guest or couple take a photie and then stick their photo in an album together with a personal note. This will ensure great fun when both you and dear husband page through the book and remember your wedding guests.
- WISHING TREE
Such a stunning and novel idea for which the principal idea is for guests to leave their well-wishes for the couple on small hang tags that they fill out and then hang on the "tree". The hang tags can be square or shaped (e.g. leaf-shaped for fall weddings). Normally the tree itself consists of some branches that are adorned with flowers, crystal garlands or whatever embellishments you want to use to tie in with your theme.

- SIGNING VASE
This is a quirky idea for those that like to display their mementos. Buy a vase that is preferably sand blasted and have guest write their names on the vase. You can then use this vase to display lovely flowers in your home.
